Curated by Simone Soldini and the Museo d’arte Mendrisio, the exhibition Una storia di arte e di poesia. Arcangeli, Bertolucci, Biamonti, Isella, Orelli, Sereni, Tassi, Testori and their artists establishes a dialogue between the artistic gesture and the words of the eight ‘critics’ by placing quotations from their writings alongside the works on display in a poetic and formal adherence relevant to the historical context. The texts narrate, “translate” into words the works of a large group of artists. But not only that, they lead us to an interweaving of situations that restore the “spirit of the times”.
Repetto Gallery is pleased to participate in this important institutional exhibition with the loan of works by Leoncillo Leonardi, Fausto Melotti and Sergio Romiti.
