Repetto Gallery is pleased to announce the event Giorgio de Chirico. Pittore e scrittore, a meeting with Andrea Cortellessa, Paride Pelli and Paolo Repetto to be held on Saturday 21 October 2023 at 11.30 a.m. at the exhibition venue in Lugano, via Clemente Maraini 24.
On this occasion, the book “Giorgio de Chirico. Writings 1910 – 1978. Novels, Poems, Theoretical, Critical, Technical Writings and Interviews”, edited by Andrea Cortellessa, Sabina D’Angelosante, Paolo Picozza and published by La Nave di Teseo, Milan, 2023, which for the first time, forty-five years after the death of the Pictor Optimus, gathers all of Giorgio de Chirico’s writings in a monumental anthology. The book will be available for purchase during the presentation.
The collection of de Chirico’s writings reveals a voice of extraordinary originality, clarity and ability to immerse himself in the mechanisms of his time, offering a unique overview of the artist’s thinking, his training, his intuitions and suggestions, his very personal idea of art, which, between theory and practice, transformed and evolved along the arc of an extraordinary artistic and existential parabola, as well as his relations with the protagonists of the cultural scene of almost a century.
The lecture will be followed by an aperitif.
