Mirella Bentivoglio – Ovo di Gubbio

This work by Mirella Bentivoglio, a symbolic monument to the stoned adulteress, was first placed in Gubbio in 1976. The artist defined it “an agreement of peace between men and women in the name of equality”.
Initially imagined as a temporary work, after a recent restoration it is now back in via dell’Appennino 1, Gubbio.
The restoration was possible thanks to the Università dei Muratori, the Municipality of Gubbio, “Amici di Mirella” and volunteers.
