This year the gallery presents the project Dal segno all’immagine which, through the works of artists from different generations, explores the constant dialectic between form and content, where the sign is a bridge between matter and spirit, between the visible and the invisible. Freed from the shackles of mimetic representation, it becomes the instrument of a new language capable of probing the depths of the unconscious and questioning reality in a radically innovative way. The image is transformed into a battlefield where the sign becomes the trace of an inner journey, an attempt to make the invisible visible, transformed into words. As Giulio Carlo Argan said, “The sign is man’s first language, his way of affirming his presence in the world”. The word, in turn, leaves the confines of the written text to become an integral part of the work of art, acquiring a new and unexpected meaning. It becomes not only a descriptive element, but an activator of meaning.
