Takesada Matsutani – Centres Georges Pompidou

Centre Pompidou embraces 60 years of Takesada Matustani’s career. Born in 1937 in Osaka, Japan, he lives and works in Paris since 1966. This first major retrospective in France traces his path both rich and singular and it valorises twenty-two works from the 1950s to our days, an extraordinary donation from the artist to the Centre Pompidou. This exhibition is also an homage without precedents to Matsutani’s original artistic adventure; throughout a constant experimentation of the organic matter and its connections with the spiritual, he never stopped looking for his “inner image”.
